Observing Details
Finding inspiration in the everyday
Welcome back to Creative Little Details!
In this edition, we continue our exploration of the art of observing details and how it can ignite your creativity. We'll delve into inspiring stories from artists who mastered the practice and share insights into my personal journey of growth and creativity.
Inspiration:
Let's start by drawing inspiration from artists who have embraced the art of observing details. Leonardo da Vinci was a master at observing and meticulously documenting intricate details in his surroundings. He went beyond artistic subjects, delving deeper to seek understanding and solutions. His pioneering exploration of light reflection marked a significant breakthrough in his studies. By conducting meticulous observations and optical experiments, he unveiled the mysteries of how light interacts with various surfaces, ultimately revolutionizing the portrayal of light and shadow in his artworks.
Leonardo or a Michelangelo?
Find out if you’re a ‘Leonardo’ or a ‘Michelangelo’ (Link to the video )
I've often found myself leaving many projects unfinished in pursuit of new and exciting ones, labelling it as procrastination on the former ones. However, a valuable lesson from a recent video has taught me that I share a similarity with Leonardo da Vinci. Like him, I tend to pause a project to explore a new one. Yet, I always return to the initial project with fresh perspectives and insights that help me complete it. I now realise that I usually switch projects because I lack a solution to a problem I'm encountering. This process reminds me that sometimes; to find something unnoticed, you must venture out and come back when you have insight or a new way of tackling the previous challenge.
Michelangelo's approach to his projects resonates with my commitment to achieving excellence. He was renowned for his unwavering passion for perfection and his relentless pursuit of improvement in his work. Much like Michelangelo, I share the same dedication to refining and perfecting my projects, never settling for mediocrity. I believe in working persistently until I reach my desired goals, much like the way Michelangelo continuously strived for perfection in his art. However, while I hope to create something I'm proud of, I understand the importance of avoiding stagnation. Striving for perfection should not hinder progress; rather, it should be a driving force for continuous improvement. I embrace the mantra that 'done is better than perfect,' recognising that completing projects allows for growth and learning. I also advocate for sharing my content, as it opens the door for valuable feedback and serves as a stepping stone for creating even better content in the future.
Creative tip: Transforming Your Environment: A Fresh Perspective!
Just as Leonardo da Vinci found inspiration in various places, changing your surroundings can be a powerful way to spark fresh ideas. It could be as simple as moving around in a room or looking at a problem from a new angle. The key is to shift your perspective, like embarking on a journey that uncovers hidden details and reveals exciting new ideas that were once hidden.
My Personal Growth: Personal Journey - My Creative Reawakening:

Conclusion:
I'd like to leave you with a small anecdote. It's a reminder that creativity is not confined to grand gestures but often hidden so observe around you, you never know what would inspire you
“Details make perfection, and perfection is not a detail.”
―Leonardo Da Vinci
This quote implies that perfection is achieved not just by focusing on the broad strokes or overall concept, but by meticulously considering and refining even the smallest elements.
Stay tuned for the next issue, where we'll continue our creative journey together. Thank you for being a part of this journey dedicated to finding beauty in the everyday.
